Check out this line...

July 16, 2007

Boston 4
Kansas City 0

There's not much more to say about that...

How about two things:

#1 - It was the Royals

#2 - Schillings looking at coming back "around the July 31 trade deadline".

Can Gabbard do long relief from the pen? Or the better, age-old, question...is it better to have a 3-4 great starters, or 5-6 good starters?

Dude - can't you just be happy for the 25 year old kid that was brought up to pitch for the #2 pitcher in a rotation that has 3 aces without pointing out that it was against the team with the second worst record in the AL or analyzing how this is going to affect the rest of the season?

Sure it was the Royals but they're still a ML team, this guy's only pitched 55.0 innings in the bigs his entire career, and now he has 1 of 3 CG and shutouts for this rotation. I didn't put it up there to say that we need to squeeze him in or that he's the next best thing - I just wanted to say, "Hey, nice game, Kason. We're very happy to see you do that."

And 3 great starters is more than any team needs.

I'm sorry, but I just think that his good game is getting blown into a Cooperstown performance.

I agree on the 3 great starters theory, we just need to find the third to help finish out this year. A healthy Schill is probably our best bet. But regardless, the veteran hitters on the team, need to get some consistant run support for our pitchers, and start at least playing close to their offensive potential. Otherwise that gap between the Sox & Skankies will keep shrinking.

Hey Kason, nice game. And nice one against Detroit too (3H & 2ER over 6.1). Keep it up, and maybe Theo & Tito will have some tough decisions over the next couple years: Gabbard, Lester, Bucholtz, Tavarez, Hansack, Snyder.

When did I get more pessimistic that Lano?
