I don't know how I do it...

Being away from my family and friends, traveling alone to the other side of the world to a place that I have never been to before, that has a strange culture and strange people. I have to contend with driving on the other side of the road, strange wild animals, unfamiliar food, weird sayings and customs. How do I handle it?

Oh, this might help a little. Once again, Melbourne, Australia (where I live) has been placed very near the top of the list of "The World's Best Places to Live" according to Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

TOP TEN 2007
Vancouver
Melbourne
Vienna

Comments:
Liechtenstein would've been on there, but we don't want more people coming here so we try to lay low.

But look who's number one on the second list...thats, uh, close to Liechtenstein.

I can see how some of the other countries beat out Boston, but does Honolulu and San Fran really beat out the history of good ole beantown?

So uh, when do you move to Vancouver?

Although I'm somewhat biased because I haven't been to all of these places, I can definitely say there's a reason Zurich and Duesseldorf are so high up on the 2nd list.

By Corrigan's "close to" theory, Detroit is close to Toronto. So how high on the list does that put D-town?

And where's Denver on either list? I like to think at least among the US cities, it'd fall around Portland. I mean come on, the Trailblazers?!?!

I'd say when it comes to "Stability; Healthcare; Culture & Environment; Education; and Infrastructure," maybe there's a few things Detroit is lacking. However, when it comes to "concentration of some of the best people and friends in the world (even though we're missing a few right now)," Detroit can't be beat.

And yeah, where is Denver - that city is Heaven on Earth!
